McCarthy Baptist Church is an Acts 1:8 Challenge church, which means we strive to fulfill Jesus' last command to the church before He ascended back to Heaven: "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
(Acts 1:8 NIV). Our "Jerusalem" is our community, our "Judea" is our state, our "Samaria" is our continent, and the "ends of the earth" is just that--the rest of the world.
Community Missions and Outreach
We reach our immediate community with the Good News about Jesus several different ways. Each Fellowship Group
at McCarthy adopts an Outward-Focused Ministry
that both meets the very real physical and felt needs of individuals and families in the community, as well as giving us the opportunity to share how to receive Christ
. Our church has also developed the "Overflow" Ministry, which enables us to get food into the homes of people who are in need and then share the Good News of Jesus with them. Finally, we regularly offer training for our members in personal evangelism, as well as plan special events designed to reach people with the message of salvation.
McCarthy Baptist Church has a rich legacy of not only supporting mission work financially, but through the sending of mission teams throughout the world. Below you will find several links to pages that will tell the exciting story of our past mission trips, our adopted missionaries and people groups, upcoming mission trip opportunities, and our missions policies and guidelines. Use the information as a guide to pray for the missionaries, people groups, and upcoming trips. Also, as you look through pages, why don't you prayerfully consider if God may be calling you to go and fulfill the Acts 1:8 Challenge in your life?
