Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life - we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about McCarthy Baptist Church.
Some key information about the church...
Where & when does the church meet?
McCarthy Baptist meets every Sunday at 10:30 am for our Sunday morning worship service. It's generally good to arrive 10 or 15 minutes early so that you can find your seat for the worship service. If you wish to arrive earlier the first time you come to McCarthy, every week we serve a hot breakfast at 8:30 am followed by Bible study in our fellowship groups at 9:00 am.
We meet at the church building. The address is:
McCarthy Baptist Church
2710 South Belt Highway
St. Joseph, MO 64503
What should I expect when I visit the church?
You will receive a very warm welcome from everyone. Our greeters will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. Our worship service includes singing, prayer, Scripture reading, and the preaching of the Word. The pastor will give a message from God's Word and give people an opportunity to respond at the end of the service. If you have questions or would like to get to know us better, the pastor and church members are always available to visit after the service.
What happens to my children at church?
We have a fantastic program for children at McCarthy Baptist for ages 0-12. Nursery and preschool aged children may go to the nursery located on the lower level of the church as soon as you arrive at McCarthy. Older children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we sing together for the first part of the worship service. The pastor will announce when the children may leave the sanctuary and go to children's church (a service that's designed just for kids!). The first time your children go to children's church you will need to go with them for a few minutes to register them.
For more information about what is available for your children at McCarthy please visit the relevant age group for your children under the "Church Life" link.
